I will talk a little bit about a great - with capital G - band that I've been listening to constantly during the past few days; Korn (or KoЯn, or yet another weird ways to type this). Believe or not, even though I like this kind of music and bands alike, before my friends showed me them last week, I had never listened a single song of them.
Their lead vocalist, Jonathan Davis, states that they originated the new metal scene, where lies great band like Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit, that, in my opinion, used to be good. This new metal thing is like a mix of metal and rap, which turns out to be really good.
Korn has it all: it's heavy, but not over the top; it's freaky, but it's not bad. It's just plain weird good. I mean, just check this video clip:
The video is awesome, and the music is ... well it's Korn: heavy chords and heavy feelings deep within the music. Feelings which Davis, the vocalist, says to bring from his memories, that are not exactly good: he said he was sexually abused when he was a child.
Another great song they have is:
Both these songs are from, in my opinion, their best album: Issues. The lyrics from the album, the music, everything is deep, shows emotions, shows ... issues. It's one of their latest albums (1999), but pretty good yet.
To finish this, I'd like to just introduce you guys to their best song (obviously, in my opinion, again) and probably their biggest hit:
For me, overall, Korn is 8/10. Can't really explain why, it is just good in their unique way.
